Jeep Announces its New Mid-Size Truck: The 2020 Jeep Gladiator

The Jeep lineup has no shortage for capable SUVs. One thing that's missing, however? A powerful truck. In 2020 Jeep will be filling that gap the all-new Jeep Gladiator.

With the Gladiator, Jeep's engineers have promised to create the "most capable midsize truck ever." It's a claim it intends to back up with some impressive performance options. These will include powerful powertrain options like a 260 horsepower EcoDiesel V6. Likewise capable of 442 pounds-feet of torque, it will be a hard act for even the current performance kings to match.

According to Jeep's North American brand head Tim Kuniskis, the Gladiatior is simply Jeep responding to an unfulfilled demand they see in the present-day market.

"There is tremendous demand for this unique vehicle from our loyal Jeep customers and pickup truck buyers everywhere," commented Kuniskis. "Born from a rich and proud heritage of tough, dependable Jeep trucks, Gladiator combines rugged utility, versatility and functionality resulting in the most capable midsize truck ever."

Taken altogether the Jeep Gladiator will offer everything from best-in-class towing to a powerful four-wheel drive system and some of the most efficient powertrain options in its size class. Likewise armed with a selection of advanced safety and technology features, it will combine its rugged design with a healthy serving of modern amenities.
